PUMA Suede Dubai / Photo Composites

I was hired by PUMA Middle East to help them with the release of the PUMA Suede Dubai Exclusive. Given that footwear and sneakers are sort of my specialty and that I have worked for the brand before in multiple occasions; they considered me and my style to be was a good fit for this project. They wanted me to create some images depicting the 2 color ways of this iconic sneaker silhouette at specific and famous landmarks of Dubai.

The process was fairly simple. They sent a list of these locations. I searched for background images and sent them multiple options for them to choose the ones they considered best for the campaign. They also sent sample pairs of the sneakers for me to photograph, retouch and photo composite into these background pictures.

Once the background were selected the product photography, retouching and photo compositing process was pretty straight forward. All the stock photography was from either Adobe Stock® and ShutterStock®. Product photography was all done at my studio. All the retouching and photo compositing was done in Adobe Photoshop® which is my image editing software of choice.

Here are a couple of layer breakdowns of the photo composite / manipulation process for some of the shots:

Since I had the shoes in my studio I also took the product shot they used for e-commerce. PUMA has a very specific way to do product photography. They shared the guidelines for it and I followed them. They like very clean and sharp images where color is very faithful to reality.

I've worked for many footwear companies from all over the world but it is always cool to see you work live!
